The “Gun Room” bar has an open fire and is a great place to mull over the day with a reviving drink. The main sitting room and hall also have open fires and comfortable chairs in which to relax.
Non-residents are very welcome to drink & dine.
Extensive and carefully constructed wine menu is sure to excite any sommelier. Whiskey’s from all over Scotland sit proudly on our shelves but pride of place has to go to Glen Ord, who even use some of our spring water to create their finest blends of malt and barely. The most local ale we serve is from Black Isle Brewery, who have fantastic green ethics, great events and have been doing very well recently and even turned national, of course, with them just up the road, we still have a reliable supply for our guests.
We have also popped a few other specialities on our shelves for 2014, including a selection of well established real ales from the Cairngorm Brewery. Various flavours of the award-winning Scottish farmhouse cider, Thistly Cross.
Glen Ord is a whisky distillery in the Scottish Highlands and is the only remaining single malt scotch whisky distillery on the Black Isle.
The distillery is based at the end of our drive and you can go for a tour of the distillery and watch the distillers at work creating a magical malt whisky.
Born out of a passion for making cider in the best possible way, combined with belief in the quality of Scottish produce, and asking ‘why not?’, came Thistly Cross Cider; Scotland’s award winning farmhouse ciders.

Is a functional room ready to be filled with the sound of knives and forks dancing on the plates. The room overlooks the front of the house and is on the first floor, unfortunately because the House is listed we cannot provide disabled access to this room but we can arrange for you to eat your meals in the bar if preferred.
We have been serving high quality meals for our customers for years, we have maintained an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence for over 10 years now. Recently passing with high compliments from the inspector this June 2014. Keeping this award for so long is a testament the the care and love we put into our food.
Here’s how Chef Eliza does it…
Where possible our food is locally sourced from quality suppliers. We won’t quibble about price when it comes to the care that has gone in to making the food products we use to create our dishes. Our onsite vegetable garden provides as much seasonal produce as they allow, other greenery is sourced from local or British farmers. All herbs used are fresh from our herb garden which is raised to protect it from slugs and bunnies!
The eggs we use for the restaurant are from reputable local free range farmers, to ensure you are getting the best quality and go through the proper standards testing. Ord House Hotel’s own free range chickens contribute towards our own stock pile of eggs, for the family.
Most of the lamb served on our menu is from the sheep grazed on our land, you can see them on the south field. Aberdeen Angus is served on the menu and of course is of highest Scottish quality and cooked on the real char-grill. Only the best Scottish smoked salmon, haggis and other Scottish delights graces our menu.
Our sausages are specially selected and tested for optimum taste. Our favourite at the moment is venison!
For Hotel Guests we serve breakfast between 8am – 9.30am but for those requiring an early breakfast, on request, we can do it from 7am no problem at all. We have a variety of hot options to accompany a continental selection, including kippers!
